Trans people deserve something vital. They deserve your respect.

We are all different. That’s not a bad thing, that’s a good thing. And while it may not be easy to get past the things you always don’t understand, I want to prove that it is absolutely possible if we only do it together.

This transition has been harder on me than anything I could imagine. And that’s the case for so many others besides me. For that reason alone, trans people deserve something vital. They deserve your respect. And from that respect comes a more compassionate community, a more empathetic society and a better world for all of us.

What I’m doing is going to do some good. We are going to change the world. We are going to make a difference in the world.

My whole life has been getting me ready for this. My whole life has prepared me for this moment, and I want to take advantage of it, and I want to do the right thing.

I’m saying goodbye to people’s perception of me and who I am. But I’m not saying goodbye to me. This has always been me. [When you think of me], please be open-minded. I’m not this bad person. I’m just doing what I have to do.

You wonder if you are making all the right decisions. I wish I were kind of normal. It would be so much more simple.

If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life, you never dealt with yourself,’ and I don’t want that to happen.

What a responsibility I have towards this community. Am I going to do everything right? Am I going to say the right things? Do I project the right image? My mind is spinning with thoughts. I just hope I get it right.
