She was fierce, she was strong. She wasn’t simple. She was crazy and sometimes she barely slept. She always had something to say. She had flaws and that was okay. And When she was down, she got right back up. she was a beast in her own way, but one idea described her best. She was unstoppable and she took anything she wanted with a smile.

She brought out the storm in people because she knew that wherever there were dark skies and wild winds, lied a truth. A truth that described how much love once can leave behind the moment they accept all the pain they had lived. And that it all she ever wanted. For everyone around her to embrace her storms and make them fall in love with their own violent winds.

Then, she began to breathe, and live, and ever moment took her to a place where goodbyes were hard to come by. She was in love, but not in love with someone or something. She was in love with her life and for the first time in a long time, everything was inspiring.

We think we owe everyone something, we think we need to explain ourselves, and we think too much about thinking too much. And it’s funny how we think we know it all. But the reality is this: everything we think that brings us closer together is everything that sets us further apart. And overthinking of how different we all are, is failing to recognize of how connected we all could be.

It must be madness, the way we let things devour us. The way we let the things we want out, back in. And the horror of it all is, we stay attached to everything that hurts. We cling to it and never really learn how to let go. So perhaps we do want happiness but we also desire to keep the pain close, close enough to destroy us, close enough to define us, and close enough to make us feel a little less cold.

She was made of all complicated things, but she always had a simplicity in the way she laughed. And that’s all she ever wanted, to understand her while she was out trying to make sense of her soul and the handful of flowers blooming from the top of her skull.

“and in that moment, all I could remember was our goodbye and how every moment spent was like I never knew you at all.”

“Madness is somewhere between chaos and having a dream.” – R.M Drake

“Maybe we feel empty because we leave pieces of ourselves in everything we used to love.” – R.M Drake

“and there were always those nights where she preferred the rain over people. because the rain would remind her of how she should feel and people would remind her of the things she always wanted to forget.” – R.M Drake

“She slept with wolves without fear, for the wolves knew a lion was among them.” – R.M Drake

“She was never crazy, she just didn’t let her heart settle in a cage. She was born wild.. and sometimes we need people like her. For it’s the horrors in her heart which cause the flames in ours. And she was always willing to burn for everything she has ever loved.” – R.M Drake

“Forgive those who have hurt you, for they are hurting too. Let grudges go, and instead replace them with a recognition of humanity, in all its messiness, and fuckedupness, and beauty. No one strives to hurt you, not many people at least. Wish love instead. Feel empathy for the pain some people must be in to behave the way they once did, or still do. Don’t “kill them with kindness.” Set them free by freeing yourself. Choose love.” – R.M Drake
